About Dawn

Real Estate has been a part of my life since I was a child. My mom was a successful Realtor, and one of my “chores” on Saturdays was sorting and organizing the new listing packets sent to each office from the MLS each week. I then spent most Sundays at open houses doing homework, but really listening and being fascinated by my mom and the buyers. I'd dreamed of being a Realtor ever since, but began my career with a marketing and graphic design degree. I went to work for a local brokerage as an administrative assistant and marketing specialist, and subsequently became a licensed appraiser, while my children were young. Market changes in the mid-2000's had me thinking about my purpose again. Being a person who likes to work with and help people, and the wife of a (now retired) medical oncologist and professor who was so passionate about his own work, I founded and co-directed a 501(c)(3) non-profit called "Destination Hope" for 13 years in Cleveland, Ohio. The purpose was to provide psychosocial and wellness retreats to women living with cancer and/or undergoing cancer treatment. After more than 25 years of vacationing in SW Florida, and discovering the barrier islands during our chartered trawler-cruises in the ICW, we knew where we would be retiring. We've been Florida property owners since 2012. In 2016 we purchased on Little Gasparilla Island, and have been full-time residents since 2020. I am also very involved in the Little Gasparilla Island Property Owners Association, and am intimately familiar with the barrier islands, island living, and their unique lifestyles, as well as that of our mainland, coastal communities. I look forward to helping my clients find their perfect home.
